Tonight is the final Opening for Papergirl PDX, We’ll be showing the video and photography of the project.
Come out and visit with us, it will (hopefully) be the last Hoodturkey show this year.

Papergirl rode through Portland yesterday, delivering over 200 pieces of art to random people on the streets.
It was a really fun and amazing event.

A big thanks to all the artists who donated, to all the paper girls and boys, to the documenters, and to Portland for being absolutely lovely yesterday.
More documentation is to come, so stay tuned!

I participated in Ryan Scammell’s “Beneath the Surface” piece, a piece about flooding, water, memories, and the past. I highly suggest listening to it and to his other work over at Phonography. Ryan used to intern at Radiolab, and his editing reflects that standard of excellence.
In 2009 I partnered with Papergirl in Berlin to bring Papergirl to Portland.
Over 200 original works of art were donated to the project.
In September the art was shown at the Second Nature Gallery.
In October, some awesome people and I rode through the streets of Portland on bicycles, distributing the donated art at random to people on the street.
so much fun, right?
Stay tuned…
Won’t be organized by me, but you can find out more at http://papergirlportland.wordpress.com/.
Papergirl PDX, like most of my projects, was funded by myself alone. If you’d like to support free, public art that is kinda awesome, please consider buying me a burrito:
Abraham Ingle (that’s me) won a 2008-2009 award for my Neighborhood Diaries Project, read more here. Thanks to the RACC and to all my friends and family for their support!
