Friday, August 13th, come check out my solo show at WorkSound.
As part of Worksound’s “Wearable Art” show, I’ll be presenting “Fake Up.” Women in prison, without access to commercial cosmetics, turn to the items they can get. I’ll be there with a beautician marketing these CF Cosmetics (Correctional Facilities), inviting people to try fake-up, and presenting images of fake-up.

Other artists include: Alex Dolan, Hoyun Son, Aaron Terry, Deanna Bredthauer, Katie Behel, Palma Corral, Devon Maldonado, and Iris Stevenson.

Abraham Ingle // FalseFront // Last Thursday // 6-9 PM, July 29th, 2010
On Last Thursday, July 29th, come check out my solo show at FalseFront.
The show, entitled If A Tree Falls… consists of all new Social and Studio practice projects that explore notions of presence in the age of “always on.”

Interruptions is a series of three videos that mix content from social media, drama, and real life to explore interaction. Interruptions was made in collaboration with Dustin Zemel.

Share is an interactive form that questions the value and limitations of public disclosure.

A collaboration with The Portrait Booth Project, This is How I See You uses portraiture to juxtapose states of hyper-awareness and obliviousness.

Wish You Were Here. What does it mean to capture a moment amidst over three billion images? And who owns images that live soley on the web?

Flesh, Blood, and Bone is an installation exploring expectation, experience, and conceptions of authenticity.
Chat Roulette

For the duration of the show, the gallery will be on chat roulette. I am terrified and excited…

What happens when a bunch of great kids from the Metropolitan Learning Center make a documentary about contemporary artists (like moi) living and making art in Portland?

This spring the Young Filmmakers Program partnered with Metropolitan Learning Center students to produce a series of documentary vignettes that provide a current look at contemporary artists living and making art in Portland. The result is 10 portraits of individuals working in various mediums, from fashion to painting to conceptual art. Led by filmmaker Andy Blubaugh, subjects include fashion designer Adam Arnold, sculptor/media artist Evertt Biedler, sculptor/conceptual artist Bruce Conkle, actor/dancer Carlos Alexis Cruz, illustrator/graphic novelist Daniel Duford, painter Tamara English, multidisciplinary artist Abraham Ingle, conceptual/multidisciplinary artist Mack McFarland, painter Lorna Nakell, and photographer Ann Ploeger. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m sure it will be cute/embarrassing. Come watch it and share in my mortification!
